When is the competition?

The competition will take place between 19th and 24th of July.

How much is it?

The entry fee is 20€, and the participation fee is 60€ per night, per person.

How can we register our team?

What are the dates for registration?

Every team that wishes to participate in the European Universities Championship must register until June 19th.

Is there any transportation from the airport to the hotel?

Yes. Transportation from the airport to the hotel will be assured by bus.

Where will the meals be given?

The breakfast will be served at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be served at the University Canteen.

How will the transport between every location of the championship work?

The transportation between every relevant place of the championship will be assured by bus (hotel, pavilion, canteen, etc).

How and where may one deal with the accreditation of the teams?

The accreditation procedures will be prepared before the arrival of the teams, and the respective credentials will be given at the hotel.

What are the necessary documents for the accreditation of the teams?

An ID document, with a photo.

When arriving at the airport, how should the teams proceed?

When arriving at Funchal, the teams should pass through the Customs exit and a member of the organization shall be waiting. These members shall be always properly identified, in order to be easily recognized.

What are the required visas to enter Portugal?

All visitors, except EEA member states, must hold tickets and documents for their return or onward journey, and a proof of a paid accommodation

The borderless region, known as the Schengen area, includes the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

All these countries issue a standard Schengen visa that has a multiple entry option allowing the holder to travel freely within the borders of all.
It is highly recommended that passports have, at least, six months validity remaining after your intended date of departure from your travel destination.

Is any specific vaccine needed?

Unless one comes from an infected area, there are no requirements in terms of vaccines, to travel to Madeira.  If in doubt, ask your travel agent or the Portuguese Embassy.

What are the average temperatures and precipitation levels during the championship?

The average temperature during the championship is of around 23 ºC (74 ºF), and precipitation levels are very low, bearing in mind July is already in the summer season.
